Last time I gave you my view on the vivacious, creative, bright and funny Spring personality, after the first flush of Spring nature takes a while to chill out, and enjoy the summer sun.

Hot summer sun, burnt grass, occasional shower and riots of fresh flowers, sum up summer for me, not  forgetting the persistent lapping of the waves and the buttery expanse of the beach that always fuels my longing to live by the sea. You would be forgiven for thinking that with the bright light of summer colours would be bright and cheerful, but if we look to the natural world for inspiration the colours of summer have muddier lighter tones, the hazy summer sunshine washing away the brightest hues, until we are left with the muted delicate colours of summer.
Blues and greens are key to the summer palette, contrasted with soft sugary pinks and mellow yellows; the summer palette is subtle and elegant. Primary colours are touched with a hint of grey to dampen their initial brightness. Neutral colours like soft greys, taupe’s, oysters and mink add a cooling touch.
So what are the hallmarks of a summer personality? Summery types are cool, calm and collected, plan everything to the last detail and are ultra organised.  You will usually find summer personalities with multiple lists to do, and are great event organisers. A summer business will be ultra tidy with a place for everything and everything in its place.
A summer business will exude an air of formality, you would never call them by a nick name, design so will pay attention to the smallest details, so don’t expect whimsical prints and romantic flourishes. Designs will be balanced with great thought given to the position of each letter and design element. Fonts will be traditional serif fonts which will show the true elegance of a summer personality.
But don’t be mistaken that this formality will be stiff, and unwelcoming, a true Summer business  will be the first to welcome you and offer a cup of tea, but it will be served in matching china rather than robust earthy stoneware mugs.
Good at organising and looking after people summer businesses can be accountants, administrators and service providers. On the downside, summer personalities can appear snobbish and cool to people they don’t know and it can take time before you are accepted into their circle. Highly perceptive they will notice small details that others may not; summer personalities may be thought of as restrained.

So do you recognise yourself, friends or business colleagues. I would love to know ?

Till next time

Katie
